In Australia, the School Strike 4 Climate group, inspired by Swedish teenager Greta Thunberg, has grown to become one of the biggest community movements in history.

At this September 2019 protest at Sydney’s Town Hall, striking students demanded no new coal, oil or gas projects, including the Adani mine. It was part of a mass action in all major Australian cities and towns, where students led protests involving unions, charities and workers whose companies supported the climate strike movement.

School Strike 4 Climate continues to hold rallies around Australia.
