Invasion Day

Australia Day, is held on January 26 every year. But it is not a day that everyone wants to celebrate. For Indigenous people, it is the day their lands were invaded and stolen, and the start of terrible injustices that continue to this day.

There’s a growing movement to change the date of Australia Day to something that everyone could feel happy with. And a growing understanding that changing the date is not enough - the injustices must be fixed too.

On Invasion Day, I join the marches to pay my respect to the Aboriginal people whose lands I live on and celebrate the strength of their cultures. Read more at:
